Planning Introduction
Barry generously shared invaluable insights regarding two pivotal plans, namely 'Hong Kong 2030+' and 'New Territory North'. These strategic initiatives offered us an in-depth understanding of the anticipated future collaboration between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, as well as the trajectory of Hong Kong's ongoing development. The 'Hong Kong 2030+' plan is a comprehensive, long-term vision aimed at shaping the city's spatial planning, land use, and infrastructure by considering economic, social, and environmental factors. On the other hand, the 'New Territory North' plan focuses on optimizing land use in the northern regions of Hong Kong, fostering economic growth, and improving the overall quality of life. Our discussions on these plans helped us grasp the importance of regional integration, cross-boundary connectivity, and sustainable urban development in the coming years. Furthermore, it highlighted the role of effective cooperation and joint efforts between the two cities in addressing shared challenges and achieving common goals.
Course by team Pink and Black
The two groups spearheading these sessions not only delivered engaging and interactive presentations but also skillfully incorporated pertinent issues that landscape architects often grapple with in their professional practice. By doing so, they managed to emphasize the importance of making informed choices and adopting a conscientious approach in the field of landscape architecture.
For Pink sessions, we talked interestingly about how to build our own company as a design studio or institution, which we got serous thinking about the budget and profits.
During the Group black sessions, the groups also delved into the intricacies of urban development, exploring the various challenges and concerns that arise in the process of shaping and controlling the growth of cities. Through thought-provoking discussions and real-life examples, they underscored the significance of responsible development and the need for landscape architects to play an active role in safeguarding the environment and promoting sustainable practices.
In essence, these interactive sessions provided not only valuable information but also fostered a deeper understanding of the ethical and practical considerations that landscape architects must take into account when navigating the complex world of urban development and preservation.
