The first week was about self-introductions, and the main aspect that needed to come across beyond the basic information was professionalism, which was the biggest focus of the class. I started my dissertation by focusing on urban forests, and I mainly collected reports on urban forests from different cities around the world. Urban trees have various functions, among which leaf area index is an important indicator to evaluate trees, which is also closely related to functions such as air purification and cooling.
